Thuyen Phiet is a graduate of the Ecole Normale de Musique in Paris, France, where she studied under Jules Gentil and Alfred Cortot. She was the first prize winner in chamber music performance at the Conservatoire International de Musique in Paris, France.

Thuyen Phiet started as a Professor at the Conservatory of Saigon (Vietnam). She became assistant Professor at Bridgewater College (Virginia). She gives lectures on a regular basis at universities and various venues such as George Mason University in VA and CA State Conventions.

She has more than forty years of private studio teaching and her students have performed concerts at Town Hall (NY) and have been laureate of Beethoven Bicentennial Competition for Southeast Asia in Singapore. All of these students started with Thuyen as beginners.

Thuyen Phiet is a member of MTNA (Music Teachers National Association), NEPTA (New England Piano Teachers Association) and MMTA (Massachusetts Music Teachers Association).
